Sweet comments!

The last two days I've received 2 very sweet comments. One was last night at my Tastefully Simple party. I had a client ask me if all the consultants had a personality as sweet as mine. We were playing a little ticket game and I think she was trying to get an extra ticket. I do think she meant it though because after that she said I do have a really sweet personality and it shows. Then today coming home from Zootastic Tyler told me that I was the prettiest Mom ever. I just don't know what to do with all these sweet comments. I'm very blessed.

We had a super busy day today. This morning Tatiana had her gymnastics end of the year ceremonies. Tatiana did not want to go in front of the crowd to do anything. She was grasping onto me for dear life. I eventually handed her over to one of the girls there that are on the team. She came out with all the other kids but wasn't walking but being carried. She then started crying when they tried to get her to participate with the others. So, she sat down and watched everyone do their stuff until the very end. She wanted her medal so she did do a few things in her routine then get on stage to get her medal.

Right after gymnastics we headed to Elise's birthday party at Zootastic. The kids had a great time. I thought it was a really cute place. I enjoy learning about animals also, so I think it was just as fun for me. Tatiana is definitely the shyest of the entire group, so she through me for a loop. She not only sat with someone she didn't know but she did this as the lady was holding a snake. She said she wasn't afraid of it. Tyler didn't get close enough to touch it because he was afraid it would bite him.

I had a hard time trying to get all 3 girls to look at me at once.

Giveaways!

I never realized there were so many giveaways on blogs. A lot of blogs are specifically for reviewing products then they generally also give away a product like the one they are reviewing. I love this. It has kept me up way to late on several nights. One of my fave sites to visit is Tip Junkie and not only for the giveaways but also for all the diy projects and tutorials. The tutorials is what first brought me to the site then I later found the giveaways. I was lucky enough to already win one giveaway which I posted about here http://tanya-alittlebitofeverything.blogspot.com/2010/05/im-winner.html. I'm not usually a very lucky person, so I was excited about this. It is a cute little diy apron set. I haven't put it together yet, but looking forward to see how it's going to turn out. Another great giveaway site is http://sweeps4bloggers.com/.

Today was the last day for me babysitting the girls for a while. The girls Mom took a voluntary lay off at work and is going to take some time off herself. I'm thinking I'll wait until the school year starts back up before I start watching any extra kiddos. It will be nice to be able to do stuff with Tyler since he will be home from school for the Summer.

Speaking of giveaways, I have to mention this one! June is Tastefully Simple's birthday month. Host a June party and be entered into the sweepstakes to win $115 in free products. 15 parties per region per week will be called. So, the chances aren't too bad. If you get the call at your party then I also get $115 in products. How great is that? That isn't all though.... If you have a $500 party you earn the Backyard Basics Collection valued at $55.95 in addition to your host benefits. If you have a $900 party, earn the Servin Up Sunshine Collection valued at $89.95 in addition to your other benefits. Have a $1,500 party and earn both collections.

So, if you already have a party booked for June, start working on those outside orders. If you don't have a party booked, let me know and we'll see what date I have left.

Kids washcloths

I made some washcloths for the kids this evening. I've made different kinds previously and thought I would make some others.

These are flannel and the same pattern on both sides. They are also double stitched.

I've considered starting back my Etsy shop. I enjoyed doing it in the past then just kind of got out of making stuff. Since I'm feeling crafty again I may start doing some other things.

Here are a few things that I sold in my Etsy store previously.

Tutu

Scootin socks leg warmers

Flannel nap blanket

Minky washcloths

Diaper bag changing pad. Cotton on one side and minky on the other with ribbon tie.

Hair bow holders

Binky/Pacifier holder

I also wanted to share one of my favorite songs right now. It's Something Beautiful by NEEDTOBREATHE. I went to their site tonight to see some other songs they sing. NeedToBreathe is awesome!!! They just finished up a tour. If they were to come close by I would very much like to go see them in concert.

Then here are a few pictures of the kids taken today.

Tyler being Tyler. :) I wanted to take a picture of him in his Manchester United jersey. This is hubby's fave soccer team.

Babies and new craft

We had my cousins baby shower yesterday then afterward I stopped by to see my friend Christy's new baby who was only about a week old. I decided to make both of them a hair bow / hair clip holder. I've made hair bow holders in the past but this was my first attempt at making one like this.

This is the one I made for Billie (Baby Anna). I also made the hair clips to go on it.

This is the one I made for Christy (Baby Hope) along with the hair clips.

Here they are all packaged up.

Christy and her new baby, Hope. She also has 2 boys, so this time was hoping for a little girl.

Getting ready to head over to football sign ups now for my son who will be in 1st grade next year. This is the first year that he is eligible to play. It will be flag football for a few years before they start tackle football. Wish us luck!

After football sign ups we have church tonight then back home to go to bed and start another day.

Our pet squirrel

First of all let me tell you a little story.... I had left a bag of bird seen on the front porch. Someone had posted in another blog not to bring bird seed inside because moths like to get in it. I closed it up tightly and put it under one of the chairs on the front porch since I didn't want it be an eye sore. We have some clever little squirrels that made there way into the bag. The bag that was closed up tightly didn't stop them. They made a hole in the thing and there went the bird seed. Before I realized they had opened up the bag I saw a squirrel several days on the porch and it was the fattest squirrel I had ever seen. Tyler saw it one day as he was getting ready to leave for school. The squirrel was very slow compared to most squirrels. Yesterday, once I realized the mess it had made I cleaned it up then put it in a plastic container. I refilled the bird feeder and also put some bird seed down on the ground so the squirrel could still have some.

Randomness

Tatiana loves to play on the computer. She doesn't get to do it very often, but when she does she is focused.

Love

I have recently started listening to K-Love. It is more contemporary Christian music. The local station here is 94.1, but I think they have stations all over. They have something called Make a difference Monday. If I understand it correctly it came from the group MercyMe's Mr. Lovewell. Then came the idea to do something nice for someone and it is your Mr. Lovewell by sharing the love of Christ. I've heard lots of stories about people doing random acts of kindness and making a note Love Mr. Lovewell. I love the idea and definitely need to work to do some Mr. Lovewell things myself.

While on the subject of Love, I was looking over some Bible verses about love and found this. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1752718/10_inspirational_bible_verses_about.html?cat=34.
Inspirational Bible verse on Love #1- He loved us first!
1 John 4:9-10
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #2- He loved us first part 2
1 John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #3- Love your enemies
Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #4- The Golden Rule
Luke 6:31
Do to others as you would have them do to you

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #5- The greatest is Love
1Corinthians 13:13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is Love.

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #6- Above all
1Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #7- Love drives out fear
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #8- Love your wife
Ephesians 5:25
Husband, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #9- Love bind with perfect unity
Colossians 3:14
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity

Inspirational Bible verse on Love #10- Love comes from God
1 John 4:7
Dear Friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God

Now a picture of the loves of my life.

Mother's Day gift

Our devotion tonight was about Easter. While reading Matthew 28:4 NIV "The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men". It made me wonder if that saying "scared to death" derives from this verse? Something to ponder. I have really enjoyed doing these devotions with the kids. http://www.heavensinspirations.com/childrens-devotionals.html.

I still need to wrap my Mother's Day (which is tomorrow) gift for my Mom. I'm going to go ahead and post a picture of what I made for her. I don't think she will be on the computer this late tonight so I'm going to go ahead and take my chances. I think it turned out really cute.

I got the idea from the inadvertent farmer. I shared this idea with My Mommies Group and at least 3 other Mommies decided to do the same thing. I searched for a frame with 4 openings across horizontally and couldn't find one. So, I just made my own. I thought it was super cute. Now, off to go wrap it.

Tomorrow at church we will be voting on a potential pastor. Afterward we are going to head to Raleigh to my cousin, Billie's house. Billie and Scottie's adopted daughter Anna Sophia will be having her baby dedication at their church tomorrow. Since we want to be at our church for the vote tomorrow, we won't be able to make her dedication but we are going to head there afterward for a cookout.

I think I might try to get in the bed earlier tonight. I have felt pretty tired today and still have some sinus or allergy issues going on. I was up way to late last night with the movie night then coming home to piddle around on the computer.

Pictures

This morning I picked up pictures from Photos by Jol that she had taken of us in April. They turned out great! I also had pictures made of me. She has already posted the pics that she made today and they are cute if I do say so myself. Love Lee Photography is just starting into some photography and needed an adult to take some pictures of. She asked me and I agreed. :) Now I have some great profile pictures for Facebook. Here are just a few...

Also, Tatiana and I went and ate lunch with Tyler at school. He enjoyed us being there and we may try and go back on Monday. This evening our church had a Mother's movie and game night. I really enjoyed spending some time with fellow Mommies.

A day off...

I have a few days off while the girls that I watch are in MA visiting with their MiMi. I took Tyler to school. He normally rides the school bus, so this is a treat for him. He also delivered his teachers their Teacher appreciation gifts to them. The kids were as excited if not more excited then the teachers to see what was inside. I made both of them clipboards using Mod Podge and scrapbook paper. See this previous post... http://tanya-alittlebitofeverything.blogspot.com/2010/04/mod-podge.html. I think I made one of his teachers feel a little bad. She said that she hadn't even got her daughters teachers anything and she was in the Kindergarten class next door. :)

This morning I took Tatiana to gymnastics which is our normal Thursday ritual. Since I didn't have the girls I asked MaMa if she wanted to come to gymnastics with us since she had never been before. We stopped by and picked up MaMa and Tatiana being her shy self wouldn't even speak to MaMa. We get to gymnastics and she is acting out of the norm. She doesn't want to go into gymnastics. Once I finally get her in there, today is picture day. They come to get me because she doesn't want to have her pictures done. I go in there with her and try bribing her with ice cream, Mc Donalds, etc., etc., etc.. Nothing would work. They also were working on their end of year routine for the awards ceremony. She didn't want to participate in that either. She is a very stubborn little girl. We leave gymnastics once it's over and MaMa didn't get to see her do any gymnastics.

It was an early release day for Tyler's school. After he got out of school we headed over to the park for a little while. It was really about too hot though so we didn't stay too long.

Tonight Mom and I had pedicures then browsed around Sephora. I found a new lotion that I'm going to put on my wish list, field of flowers by philosophy.

I really like the scent on me! Sephora is such a fun place to look around and they have some of the neatest things. Best of all, we haven't had a local one to just recently. They put one inside the JC Penney in our local mall.

I'm a Winner!

I am actually, lol! I entered a giveaway for a diy apron on a cute blog, Made and I won it! You can see a sample of what the apron looks like here http://dana-made-it-reviews.blogspot.com/2010/04/everyday-chic-diy-apron-kit-giveaway.html. I'm looking forward to getting it and putting it together!

On Wednesday nights at church we have been going over the book of James. I've been doing daily devotions with the kids before putting them to bed. Tonight I found it very interesting that our devotion went over the same verses that we studied tonight at church, James 2:14-26. God is trying to get something through to me.

The weather has been beautiful the past several days but we did get some much needed rain a few days ago. This was the craft that I did with Tatiana and Elise. Tatiana got most of her stickers on her frog. Elise was ready to do something else by about half the way through though. We'll have to finish her half done turtle at another time. :)
